”Misfits” is a British, sci-fi, supernatural, comedy, drama TV series created by Howard Overman and written by Howard Overman, Jon Brown and Mike O´Leary. The creative director is Mollie Sian Smith and the executive producers are Howard Overman, Murray Ferguson, Matt Jarvis and Petra Fried. The producers are Kate Crowe, Matt Stevens and Nick Pitt. It stars Nathan Stewart-Jarett, Joseph Gilgun, Iwan Rheon, Lauren Socha, Antonia Thomas, Karla Crome, Nathan McMullen, Shaun Dooley, Robert Sheehan, Matt Stokoe, Natasha O´Keeffe, Craig Parkinson and Matthew McNulty. It won The Royal Television Society award (RTS) in 2010, the BAFTA television award for best drama series and Lauren Socha won the best supporting actress. It was nominated at the British Comedy Awards in 2011. This series is definitely worth the watch.
”Misfits” is a low budget gem of a series. Its the story of a group of young delinquents who get super powers while doing their community service. A supernatural thunderstorm gives each and every one of them a power that corresponds to their personality. For example the character who is constantly judged by society gains telepathy and the character who is often ignored can become invisible. This is the story of a group of misfits who become more interesting and likeable as they interact with each other.
I recommend watching this series as a marathon because you won´t be able to turn it off. It´s funny and original. I highly recommend ”Misfits” as a must watch and own.
