”Slasher” takes place in your typical Canadian small town of small shops and a tight knit community. On the surface it´s a simple picturesque town with the locals going about their lives, but underneath lies some very ugly things. There is a serial killer in jail and a copy cat killer running around. The main character is Sarah Bennett, played by Katie McGrath, who moves back to the very town and the very house where her parents were killed. Why she does this is a mystery. Maybe she wants to discover the truth behind her parents´ gruesome murder and find the new copy cat killer.

There are many question marks when it comes to the characters because so many of them aren´t who they seem and nearly all of them are nuts. This is a beautiful town in a beautiful part of the country full of crazy people. The people you like at first turn out to be devious or just plain monsters. Like Sarah´s husband Dylan Bennett, played by Brandon Jay McLaren. At first he seems like a loving supportive husband but we later see him give the imprisoned serial killer Tom Winston, played by Patrick Garrow, a lock of Sarah´s hair in exchange for a prison interview. Yep, he´s nuts too.

”Slasher” is a roller coaster ride of a series with many twists and turns. Our views of the characters changes constantly as we discover more and more truths about the town and its people, and like I said some of them are monsters. Makes me glad to have grown up in a city.

This is a strange and unpredictable series that winds and turns in all kinds of directions. It´s a good watch and will have you wondering how well you really know your neighbors?
