The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
released 1966

“The Good, The Bad And The Ugly” is a classic Italian film in the western genre that takes place during the American Civil War. It was directed by Sergio Leone and produced by Alberto Grimaldi. The music was written by Ennio Morricone and boasts one of the most popular scores in film history. It stars Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef, Aldo Giuffre, Rada Rassimov, Chelo Alonso and Mario Brega. The screen play was written by Age & Scarpelli, Luciano Vincenzoni, Sergio Leone, Sergio Donati and Mickey Knox. This is the third and final part of the Dollars Trilogy with “A Fist Full Of Dollars” and “For A Few Dollars More” as the first two parts. The story is basically the hunt for Confederate treasure during the American Civil War by cowboys and bandits.

The story centers on 3 characters. Angel Eyes “The Bad”, played by Lee Van Cleef, another character Blondie “The Good”, played by Clint Eastwood, and Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez “The Rat” or “The Ugly”, played by Eli Wallach. All three are dangerous men looking for Confederate treasure. Blondie rescues Tuco from bounty hunters, collects the reward then breaks him free to collect a higher reward elsewhere. Angel Eyes is ruthlessly seeking treasure with a trail of dead people in his wake.

This film has a lot of action with mysterious characters that are just so good with their pistols. When Blondie rescues Tuco from bounty hunters he out-duels all three of them and leaves them for dead. Blondie and Angel Eyes are both very good with a pistol and Tuco is as devious and dangerous as his competitors.

“The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” is an old timeless, classic that is worth seeing.
