It was written and edited by, the man himself , George and illustrated by Jonty Clarke. This is a fun read that makes a wonderful gift for all types of personalities. For those of you that are living under a rock the character of Tyrion Lannister is the fun, smart and most capable member of the Lannister Family, a very wealthy and powerful family in the fantasy, medieval world of ”A Song Of Ice And Fire”. He is the ”black sheep” of his family who suffers many insults and injuries because he is a little person. He has a sharp wit and funny sense of humor and some of his quotes are in this book. His quotes are wisdom and humor rolled into one. He really is a great character.

”The Wit And Wisdom Of Tyrion Lannister” is an almost pocket sized book divided into 14 sections: the names of which are: ”On Being A Dwarf”, ”On The Power Of Words”, ”On Romance”, ”On Family Values”, ”On The Human Condition”, ”On Music”, ”On Food And Drink”, ”On Kingship”, ”On Realpolitik”, ”The Art Of War”, ”The Art Of Saving Your Skin”, ”The Art Of Lying”, ”On Dragons And Other Myths” and finally ”On Religion”. As you can see these chapters cover a wide range of topics from the serious to the personal.

Some of my favorite quotes are:

1. ”It may be good luck to rub the head of a dwarf, but it is even better luck to suck on a dwarf´s cock.”

2. ”My sister has mistaken me for a mushroom. She keeps me in the dark and feeds me shit.”

3. ”Never believe anything you hear in a song.”

4. ”Some allies are more dangerous than enemies.”

5. ”He´s going to be as useful as nipples on a breastplate.”

6. ”Courage and folly are cousins, or so I´ve heard.”

7. ”All this mistrust will sour your stomach and keep you awake at night, ´tis true, but better that than the long sleep that does not end.”

If you´ve read any of the books or even seen the TV series, which I highly recommend you do both, then these sayings will crack you up because you will understand the context they were told in. Otherwise, you can just read his quotes and enjoy this book as it is. It´s an enjoyable read for those in need of a good chuckle.
