This is an AI article on the film “The King”.

“The King” is an action, historical, war drama produced by Joel Edgerton, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, David Michod, Christina Oh, Brad Pitt, Liz Watts, Ildiko Kemeny, David Minkowski, Anita Overland and Sylvia Warmer. It was directed by David Michod who co-wrote it with Joel Edgerton. It stars Tom Glynn-Carney, Gabor Czap, Tom Fisher, Edward Ashley, Steven Elder, Stephen Fewell, Sean Harris, Ivan Kaye, Tom Lawrence, Ben Mendelsohn, Timothee Chalamet, Joel Edgerton, Josef Davies, Roderick Hill, Nike Kurta, Andrew Havill, Dean-Charles Chapman, Nick Whittman, Tara Fitzgerald, Philip Rosch, Lucas Hansen, Thomasin McKenzie, Robert Pattinson, Lily-Rose Depp, Thibault de Montalembert and many more.

Let me start by saying that if there ever was an underrecognized gem “The King” is very much that movie. See it today, tomorrow or next year and you will notice one quality that well made, quality films have. And that quality is that it aged very, very well. Sure, it’s a historical film that could be categorized as historical fiction or just historical but that does not explain away the fact that this is a well made movie with a great script, great customs and sets, great talent and plenty of historical accuracy. Now, I’m sure that if The Bard (Mr. William Shakespeare himself) saw it he would shrug his shoulders and acknowledge it’s a great film and much closer to historical truths than his fine play. It is less of a patriotic story than what The Bard gave us in his play “Henry V”.

So, if you love history or great action films with sword fights, palace intrigue, ambitions and plans and schemes then this film is for you. I highly, highly recommend “The King”. I loved it and will see it again soon.
